The Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Udara (TNI-AU, Indonesian Air Force) announced an order for four five-bladed H145 twin-engine light utility helicopters with Airbus Helicopters during the Bali airshow. The new helicopters are to be used for training and search and rescue missions. The airframes will be reassembled locally by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) at Bandung.
Of course, Indonesia has a long-standing partnership with what is now the Airbus group. Manufacturing main fuselage parts for the H225 programme and manufacturing these locally for the air force is just one of the examples.
The H145Ms are an addition to the EC120s already used for instruction. The value of the order was not disclosed nor was the delivery timeframe, the H145 being a very sough-after helicopter, this could take a while.
