Japanese aggressor gets new feathers

The Hiko Kyodogun (Aggressor Group) of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) based at Komatsu, received its ninth F-15DJ Eagle on 12 October 2020.

The aircraft with serial 72-8090 was flown from Nagoya to Komatsu after receiving overhaul at the Mitsubishi facility.

The Eagle, which is one of the more permanent assets of the aggressor unit, was seen with the badge applied only a few days after re-delivery, but still with its standard grey scheme.

It received this outstanding colour scheme at the beginning of November 2020, again a new colour addition to the the already colourful fleet.

Although the unit is based at Komatsu, it is often operating from other JASDF bases where up to seven of the unit’s Eagles train with the local units.

Overview of the F-15DJ Eagles operated by the Hiko Kyodogun (Aggressor Group):

92-8070, 12-8074, 12-8076, 32-8082, 72-8090, 82-8093, 92-8094, 92-8095 and 92-8096
