Jordan Police helicopters inducted in Air Force
The three remaining Airbus EC635T2i helicopters that were operated by the Jordanian Public Security Air Wing (PSAW) from Amman Marka have been transferred to 14 Squadron of the al-Quwwat al-Jawwiya al-Malakiya al-Urduniya (RJAF, Royal Jordanian Air Force).
The move makes sense since the PSAW only operates three EC635s and 14sq operates the remaining fleet of the same helicopters. The transferred helicopters now sport large “RJAF” titles under their fuselage, but remain in their beautiful blue livery.
This leads us to conclude that the helicopters, despite their move to the RJAF, kept their role in traffic policing and public security. The PSAW received four EC635T2i helicopters. One was lost in 2016 and the remaining three are expected to be transferred. So far 1420 and 1421 have been seen.
The following four EC635T2i helicopters were operated by the PSAW: P04 (c/n 0512) to RJAF as 1420?, P05 (c/n 0516) w/o 01feb16, P06 (c/n 0537) to RJAF as 1421? and P07 (c/n 0539) to RJAF as 1422?
