"Just a nice Picture...!"

Recently involved in a Bomber Task Force (BTF) mission from Whiteman AFB (MO) was B-2A Spirit serial 82-1067 "Spirit of Arizona".

On 16 March 2021, the B-2A arrived as TIGER11 with two others, 88-0328 "Spirit of Texas" (TIGER12) and 89-0129 "Spirit of Georgia" (TIGER13), at Lajes Field on the Azores (Portugal).

The airmen from Whiteman's 509th Bomb Wing conducted a hot-pit refuel while transiting Lajes. The B-2As did a crew swap with engines running before the aircraft took off again and continued their BTF mission.

Two of them joined two B-1B Lancers from the 7th Bomb Wing, currently deployed at Ørland Main Air Station (Norway), off the coast of Iceland. The four bombers conducted long-range integration in the high north and refined the BTF skills necessary to fly effective night operations in a new (Arctic) environment.
