"Just a nice Picture...!"

Depicted seen taking off from the runway at Kadena Air Base (Japan) on 9 November 2022, is Lockheed Martin AC-130J Ghostrider, with serial number 18-5888. Strikingly, more Ghostriders have started to receive the full colour 17th Special Operations Squadron badge on the portside of the fuselage.

A welcome change from the old. It now seems that more "Gunships" in the USAF's AC-130J fleet will gain their full colour squadron badge. Scramble Magazine wrote recently that the last AC-130J was delivered to the 27th Special Operations Wing. This final delivered aircraft was adorned with a 16th Special Operations Squadron full colour badge. Both the 16th and 17th Special Operations Squadrons are based at Cannon AFB (NM).
