Will both the ZZ-coded legacy Eagles and Pave Hawks see the Kadena "America Fest 2025"?

Probably not!

Depicted is 67th Fighter Squadron's McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle with serial number 82-0036 during the Kadena "America Fest 2023". A report of this air show can be found in our show reports database. "036" was flown to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance And Regeneration Group (AMARG), also known as the Boneyard, near Tucson (AZ) during January 2024.

On 27 April 2024, the Kadena "America Fest 2024" was held. A few ZZ-coded legacy Eagles and Pave Hawks could still be observed. A week before the open house, Kadena's 33 Rescue Squadron managed to get some six Sikorsky HH-60G Pave Hawks in the air for a photoshoot during a formation flight. With the arrival of the first HH-60W Jolly Green II at Kadena, the obsolete HH-60G Pave Hawks will vacate Kadena in due time.

With the recent arrival of Air National Guard F-16C Fighting Falcons and F-22A Raptors, the next USAF deployment, consisting of a mix of fourth and fifth generation fighters, has started. Soon there will no operational F-15C/D Eagles left at Kadena.

A few additions to the last overview which was provided:
On 23 april 2024, two additional 1st Fighter Wing F-22As were added to the deployment; 04-4067/FF and 05-4091/FF. F-22As 08-4170/FF and 09-4174/FF were not listed before but arrived at an unknown date.

A previously unknown F-16C from South Dakota ANG's 175th Fighter Squadron/114th Fighter Wing became known; 88-0512.

Having used Andersen AFB (Guam) as a main hub the previous weeks, were three 3rd Wing Alaskan based F-22A's which transited Kadena arriving on 26 April; 07-4147/AK (as 477FG), 07-4151/AK and 05-4103/AK.
