Sri Lanka SLAF King Air 360ER Lucas Gabardo jetphotos 640King Air 360ER for Sri Lanka Air Force

The US Department of Defence (DoD) has awarded Textron Aviation Inc., Wichita (KS) a contract for two Beechcraft King Air 360ER aircraft.

The twin-turboprop will be delivered via a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF). Fiscal year 2022 FMS funds in the amount of USD11,4 milion were obligated at the time of the award.

The SLAF currently operates one Beech B200 King Air with No.8 Light Transport Squadron at Colombo/Ratmalana. This unit used to operate two more Beech 200T King Airs of which one, serial CR842, crashed on 22 October 2007. The other one, serial SMR-843, has last been reported active in February 2018.

The new aircaft will be modified by Textron to perform maritime patrol missions and delivery is scheduled for September 2025.
