"Lindbergh's Own" triplet Spirits scattered around the Pacific
Making up the 110th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, three USAF Northrop B-2A Spirit stealth bombers are now deployed to the Pacific Region.
On 16 Augustus 2024, a Bomber Task Force (BTF) deployment of B-2A Spirits, Airmen and support equipment from the 509th Bomb Wing (regular USAF) and 131st Bomb Wing "Lindbergh's Own" (Missouri Air National Guard), normally based at Whiteman AFB (MO) started at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland (Australia).
While flying from Amberley, during a bilateral exercise exchange, the B-2As were refueled in the air by Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft. Last week, one of the B-2As made a quick pit stop at Diego Garcia Air Base in the Indian Ocean, located some 3.000 miles from the mainland.
This latest Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) "strategic messaging" BTF deployment is in support of Pacific Air Forces’ training efforts with allies, partners, and joint forces and strategic deterrence missions to reinforce the rules-based international order.
The following WM coded B-2As are now deployed to the Pacific Region: 82-1067 “Spirit of Arizona”, 82-1069 “Spirit of Indiana” and 93-1086 "Spirit of Kitty Hawk".
