On 11 May 2022, 175th Fighter Squadron's F-16C Fighting Falcon 88-0480 was involved in an incident at Sioux Falls Airport (SD).
The F-16C, operated by 175th Fighter Squadron Lobos, part of the South Dakota Air National Guard 's 114th Fighter Wing, based at Joe Foss Field Air National Guard Station stated with Sioux Falls Airport, slid off the runway. It seems that the Fighting Falcon overran runway 15 on the south side of the airport.
The incident occurred when the pilot was returning from a routine training mission and was uninjured. It was stated that the cause of the crash will be investigated by an interim board determined by the Air National Guard. Examining the released photographs, it looks like the aircraft is repairable.
