Mi-171E delivered to Nigeria

On 2 December 2020, a second Mil Mi-171E was delivered to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The new transport helicopter was delivered on board Aviacon Zitotrans Ilyushin Il-76TD RA-76502 to NAF Base Makurdi.

The Mi-171E, serial NAF582, is the 23rd new aircraft acquired by the Federal Government Administration since 2015. The new helicopter will undoubtedly boost NAF's contributions in the fight against insurgency, armed banditry and other criminal activities in the country.

The Mi-171E is reported to be operated by the 22nd Quick Response Wing (22 QRW) at Lafia in the centre of the country.
