Military VIP jet for the Netherlands

The Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu, Royal Netherlands Air Force) announced it will decide which secondhand Gulfstream 650 they will buy as a replacement of their venerable Gulfstream IV (serial V-11).

The decision will be made by 29 January 2021, as Menno Swart found out.

The KLu already openly set a requirement for technical (type) training courses for the maintenance crew for the duration of two years.

The crew needs to be trained (B1 and B2 type training) so they are able and certified to maintain the new G650 when it will be operational by the end of 2021.

The current sole Dutch Gulf is operated by 334 squadron based at Eindhoven air base (The Netherlands). It is expected that the new aircraft will be assigned to this squadron too.
