On 19 April 2021, the Russian Federation - Aerospace Forces (RF VKS) rehearsed (part of) the fly past for the 76th Victory Parade that is planned for 9 May 2021. The RF VKS also released a graphic overview of this year's participants.
For this year's parade, the Tupolev Tu-22M will not participate. The reason for this is unknown, but is reported to be related to the investigations into the latest crashes and unindented ejection seat activation of the type.
As can be seen in the image of the projected fly past, a total of 76 aircraft participate, starting with three Mil Mi-26 heavylift helicopters. The parade will be completed by the aircraft of the air demonstration teams Russian Knights and Swifts, and lastly, Su-25 attack aircraft will symbolically draw a Russian flag into the sky.
