Netherlands AMC Eindhoven 640New command within Royal Netherlands Air Force

On 1 March 2021, all Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu, Royal Netherlands Air Force) air transport assets were officially combined within a new command of the Dutch defence organisation, the Air Mobility Command (AMC).

The AMC, based at Eindhoven air base (the Netherlands), is one of four new commands. It does not only handle all transport tasks within the KLu, but also that from the international partners. For this reason the European Air Transport Command (EATC), the Multinational MRTT Unit (MMU) and the Movement Coordination Centre Europe (MCCE) have become a structural part of the AMC.

According to the Commander of the Koninklijke Luchtmacht, Lieutenant-General Dennis Luyt, the AMC is the first of a series of important changes that will be implemented in the organization of the air force in the coming period.

The other three new commands that will be set up are the Air Combat Command (ACC) and the the Air Support Command (ASC). The already excisting Defence Helicopter Command (DHC) will be redesigned and is then seen as a new command too.  The ASC will be responsible for the support of the three commands.
