New livery for some TurAF T-38M Talons
The Türk Hava Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı (TurAF, Turkish Air Force) applied a stunning new paint scheme on some of its T-38M Talons. The two-tone grey color scheme will only be applied to aircraft used in Combat Readiness Training. An impressive angry bee (Ari (Bee) in Turkish - the motto of 121 Filo operating the Talons) is painted on the tail and orange details are applied to the tail and stabilizers.
121 Filo operates under 2nci Ana Jet Üssü Uçuş Eğitim Merkez Komutanliği (2nd Main Jet Base Flight Training Center Command) from Izmir Çiğli.
The artist behind the design is Omer Erkmen Artworks, who also designs many of the patches used by the Turkish armed forces. The Talons were painted by the 1nci Hava İkmal Bakım Merkezi Komutanlığı (1st Aircraft Maintenance Center Command) in Eskişehir.
So far, two T-38Ms are known to have this new livery: 63-8159 (c/n N5506) and 62-3737 (c/n N5442).
