Official handover of Indonesian Airbus H225M helicopters

The Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Udara (TNIA-AU, Indonesian Air Force) reached an important milestone today with the acceptance into service of eight H225M (EC725 Caracal) helicopters. The 1 December ceremony saw the official handover by PT Dirgantara Indonesia, the main contractor and responsible for final assembly of these helicopters that were manufactured by Airbus.

The unit at Bogor, 8 Skadron Udara (8 air squadron) took HT-7207 to HT-7214 on charge and these add to the six already in use to form a fleet of fourteen. Plans call for another H225M unit to be erected, Skadron Udara 9. The status of that unit is unknown but could still be working up to receive these machines.

On a side note, the fifth C-130J-30 for the air force made a test flight earlier this week and will strengthen Indonesia's transport fleet even further.
