On 25 March 2022, Greece commemorated the 201st anniversary of the 1821 War of Independence against 400 years of Ottoman rule with the annual military parade in the center of the capital.
As each year, the Greek air-armed military services perform a flypass over Athens. Each year, a foreign air-arm participates and this year the honour went to the Marine Nationale (French Navy) that provided four Rafale M fighters that were operating from the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle (R91) that was anchored at Phaleron Bay.
Next to the air parade, one could also watch the military parade. This started at 11:00 hrs LT and made its way from Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, past Hellenic Parliament, with official dignitaries in attendance including the President of Greece, Katerina Sakellaropoulou. The parade then made it way down Panepistimiou Street where the crowds line each side of the street in front of the Attica department store and other iconic neo-classical buildings including the Academy of Athens, the National Bank of Greece and the National Library, all the way to Omonia Square.
The following aircraft participated in the ceremony (additions/corrections are most welcome):
