POL AH 64D 95675 Las Vegas 24Feb18 Baron von Speed file info 640Poland to lease AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters

The Polish Government has signed an agreement with the US to lease eight Boeing AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopters to prepare the pilots and ground crews of the Lotnictwo Wojsk Lądowych (Polish Army aviation) for the introduction of the 96 ordered AH-64E Guardians that will arrive from 2028 onwards.

The cost for this lease agreement is 300 million USD and also includes training, spare parts, technical assistance and logistics support.
Polish pilots and engineers are already training in the US and the lease agreement must be seen as an interim solution to strengthen Poland's airborne attack capabilities.

All eight Longbows (coming from the US Army) will be based at Inowroclaw Army base, northwest of Warsaw. They are expected to arrive between the second and third quarters of 2025.
The 96 Guardian helicopters will be delivered between 2028 and 2032 and when deliveries are complete, the Polish forces will be the biggest Apache user after the US.
