Portugal orders A-29N Super Tucano
On 12 December 2024, Portugal's government decided to invest around €200 million in acquiring twelve Embraer A-29N Super Tucano turboprop light attack aircraft.
Back in June this year, Portuguese Minister of National Defence Nuno Melo confirmed during a hearing in parliament that the Força Aérea Portuguesa (FAP, Portuguese Air Force) was close to acquiring the Embraer A-29N Super Tucano.
Portugal will be the first country in Europe to operate the A-29N. The contract includes a flight simulator and logistical support goods and services from Embraer, as well as the full implementation of the aircraft acquisition and support programme.
