Portuguese Air Force unveils special liveried F-16
To commemorate the 2021 edition of the Tiger Meet at Beja, the Portuguese Air Force has unveiled a special liveried F-16AM. The aircraft involved is 15116 (AA-16) and we were provided with pictures of this nice Fighting Falcon by Filipe Cruz.
Despite the Corona-pandemic, the Portuguese Air Force is hosting two spotter days, on 6 and 12 May. A maximum of 300 participants will be allowed to join.
The NATO Tiger Meet was first held in 1961 between USAFE 79th TFS, RAF 74sq and French Air Force EC 1/12 squadron. The goal of the Tiger Meets is improvement of solidarity between NATO members, the creation and maintenance of team-spirit and camaraderie between the participating members and the exchange of experiences and cooperation in line with the military goals of NATO.
Since 1962 Tiger Meets evolved into a first class military exercise where the participants fly combined missions encompassing the entire spectrum of military operations. Alongside low flying emphasis is placed on air to air refueling, air combat, the use of weapon ranges, etc..
