Republic of Serbia newest C295 operator

On 23 February 2022, the Serbian Ministry of Defence ordered two Airbus C295MWs transport aircraft for use with the Vazduhoplovstvo i protivvazdušna odbrana - V i PVO (Serbia Air Force and Air Defence). Serbia will be the 36th operator worldwide.

Scramble Magazine reported in November 2021 on the start of negotitations for acquiring the new transporters. The contract for acquiring the aircraft was signed in Madrid in the presence of senior government members of the Republic of Serbia and Spain.

This contract will be accompanied by a Government-to-Government (G-to-G) supervision agreement between the Ministries of Defence of Spain and the Republic of Serbia, which aims to study the development of future defence programmes between both nations.

Deliveries are expected to commence in late 2023.
