Republic of Singapore Air Force A330MRTT refuels RAAF KC-30A

During exercise Boom Camp, which was held between 25 October 2020 and 30 October 2020 ar RAAF Base Darwin (NT), a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) KC-30A tanker was refueled by a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) A330-243MRTT.

Both Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) variants carry hose-and-drogue refuelling pods as well as an advanced refuelling boom system, which was used extensively during Boom Camp.

The Australian variant, called KC-30A, entered service with 33 Squadron Enduring at RAAF Base Amberley (Qld.) in 2011.

The A330-243MRTTs of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) were first introduced in 2018 with 112 Squadron at Changi.

Historically, Singaporean and Australian tanker crews have trained together in Australia at Exercise Pitch Black and Bersama Five Power Defence Arrangements exercises in Singapore and Malaysia, but Pitch Black was cancelled this year because of COVID-19.

At this moment, Republic of Singapore Air Force has a contingent of 12 F-15SG Strike Eagles operating out of RAAF Base Darwin.
