RSAF 140sq 50 year anniversary

The Republic Of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) established its first fighter squadron in September 1970. This month, 140 Squadron “Osprey” celebrate their 50 year anniversary.

Originally equipped with the Hawker Hunter, which they operated for twenty years, the unit was re-equipped with the F-16A and B models in 1990. In 2000, they switched to the F-16C and F-16D block 52 models and operate them from Tengah Air Base in the western part of Singapore. Last month 140sq became a hybrid squadron, flying both the F-16 and the F-15SG Strike Eagle in the aggressor role.
