Second H145 for Philippine Coast Guard

On 14 October 2020, the Philippine Coast Guard welcomed its second H145, just four months after the official commissioning of its first H145. With their two light-twin helicopters, the parapublic agency becomes the first coast guard organisation in the world to operate the multi-purpose H145.

The Philippines H145s are specially equipped with weather radar, bambi bucket, emergency floatation gears, as well as external loudspeaker, to perform critical missions such as search and rescue, maritime patrol, law enforcement and fire-fighting.

The first delivered H145 (CHG-1452, construction number 20292) was delivered in February 2020 and has already proven itself and had taken on numerous humanitarian missions, including the delivery of personal protection equipment and essential supplies to frontliners in the Coast Guard District in Negros Occidental, a province located in the Southern Visayas, earlier in March in the fight against COVID-19. The newest H145 (CHG-1451, construction number 20273) has already undertaken its first surveillance mission.

The Philippines government ordered their first H145 in September 2018. The aircraft are based at Villamor Air Base (Philippines).
