Shaw based Fighting Falcons show colours

Aviation friend Frank Crebas had the opportunity to photograph a unique five-ship F-16CM Fighting Falcons from the 20th Fighter Wing based at Shaw AFB (SC).

While the 20th Fighter Wing "Victory by Valor" oversees the 55th "Fighting Fifty-Fifth", 77th "The Gamblers" and 79th "Tigers" Fighter Squadrons, the wing itself is subordinated to Air Combat Command's 15th Air Force. Until 1993, the 20th Fighter Wing was flying the General Dynamics F-111E Aardvark out of RAF Upper Heyford (UK).

Depicted are SW coded F-16CMs: 91-0353 as "77th Fighter Squadron", 91-0379 as "79 FS TIGER TIGER!", 92-3920 as "20 FW", 93-0550 as "Fighting Fifty Five" and 94-0049 as "15th Air Force".
