Spitfire crash at RAF Coningsby

According to several British media, a Spitfire crashed during the Battle of Britain Airshow, at RAF Coningsby, in the afternoon of 25 May 2024.

The Spitfire concerned was MK356 (CBAF.IX.1561), a Mk.IX model,  which experienced an engine failure and crashed in a field off Langrick Road, Coningsby, Lincolnshire, shortly after take-off from RAF Coningsby.

Unfortunately the pilot perished during the crash.

MK356 is owned by Coningsby-based RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
