WB Spitfire Turkije 640Spitfire gets Turkish livery

Since the arrival of Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX TE517 (c/n SH/CBAF.IX558) at the MSÖ Air & Space Museum at Sivrihisar, Eskisehir province, Türkiye, the employees have worked on the plane. Slowly but steadily it starts to look like a Türk Hava Kuvvetleri (Turkish Air Force) Spit.

Thanks to a photograph published by the MSÖ Air & Space Museum, it has become clear that the application of the Turkish National square insignia started on 13 June and will have probably been finished by the time we read this.

As Scramble announced earlier here, TE517 was ferried to its new home where it arrived on 27 May 2024. Two days later, the official ownership of the fighter passed on from 517 Ltd. to Makinsan Aviation UK Ltd., a company with its home in London. It is currently still registered in the UK.
