The United Arab Emirates Air Force deploys to Souda (Greece)

Four UAEAF F-16E/Fs will arrive at Souda air base at the isle of Crete (Greece) on 22 August 2020. The deployment of the quartet of aircraft can be seen as a symbolic but substantial move, in which the UAEAF will train with the Elliniki Polemiki Aeroporia (EPA, Hellenic Air Force) for a period of up to two weeks.

The deployment will take place amidst ongoing (and slightly rising) tensions between Greece and Turky in the Eastern Mediterranean.
