Third H125 for Chilean Navy

Late last year, the Comando de Aviación Naval (Chilean naval aviation command) took delivery of its third HH-50 (H125), serial 23 (8980). This means that the option for three more to make a total of five has been taken up.

As we reported before (see: https://www.scramble.nl/military-news/first-chilean-navy-h125-delivered) these Gaviotas replace the UH-57B (Bell 206) with the Escuadrón de Helicópteros de Propósitos Generales HU-1 (general purpose helicopter squadron) at Viña del Mar.

It was already quite active and is seen here visiting Santo Domingo Airfield (SCSN). Main task is search and rescue along the vast coast and Chilean islands.
