Chile ex USAF C 130H 640Two former USAF Herks for Chile

The Fuerza Aérea de Chile (FACh, Chilean Air Force) received two Lockheed C-130H Hercules transporters from the United States.

The first C-130H, former 74-1674 (construction number 382-4631) operated by the 186th Airlift Squadron Montana Air National Guard, arrived in Chile on 22 April 2021, packing Covid relief goods as well. It has been allocated serial number 994 that used to be worn by a C-130B.

The FACh transport unit, Grupo de Aviación Nº10, based at Santiago/Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez Intl (BA Pudahuel), operates a mix of a single C-130B (998), two C-130Hs (995, 996) and three KC-130Rs (991, 992, 999).

After the second airframe of this donation arrives, it is likely that the last C-130B will be withdrawn from use.
