RAAF Richmond houses the transport fleet of the Air Force and it is situated about 60 km northwest of Sydney.
The east-west runway is bordered to the north by a huge semi-circular ramp lined with large hangars. The south side perimeter is close to the road. Off set from the main runway is what seems to be a grass strip, maybe in use for rough terrain landing practice?
Basically, you can either take number 61 road from the M7 Sydney ring road or the no.2 road. The latter seems faster, you have to go westbound on highway 9 until you can take the no.40 road to Richmond (Windsor Richmond Road)
When using public transport, take the City rail from Sydney Central Station to Clarendon Station. Leave the platform and go north bound to the main road, the airfield will be right in front of you.
