Canadian Forces Base Petawawa is a huge complex that houses many units, mainly land forces. Luckily, it is an open base with even a small museum that can be visited. The airfield however is restricted area. Given the frontline character of the based units and their regular deployment, saftey and security concerns are relatively high. Please respect this while visiting this base.
The base can not be missed, literally, while driving north on highway 17. Coming from the south, you can either take 26 road or drive on a bit. When you take 26, you will have to enter Petawawa village and make a left when the road bends right while crossing the railway. You should now be on road 51, Petawawa boulevard. From there it is straight on, over the bridge and through the gate.
If you stay on 17 northbound, you can make a right onto Paquette road, no.55 road. At the crossroads with 51, Petawawa boulevard, make a left and enter the base.
