Base des Forces Canadiennes Valcartier is a huge complex west of the town of Quebec, housing many units, mainly land forces. Although the complex has an open base policy, the airfield is a restricted area. Given the frontline character of the based units and their regular deployments, saftey and security concerns are relatively high. Please respect this while visiting this base.
The helispot can be found about one mile north of route 369, bordering the Jacques Cartier river. The hangars and platforms are situated east of the helispot on Rue St.Laurent.
From the town of Quebec, follow highway 573 to the west, which will become route 369. The base can be found on your right just before entering the village of Shannon. Turn right to Rue Vanier. Turn right at the T-junction to Rue Rochon, which will become Rue Padre JA Dalcourt. Turn left to Rue Bieler and the second road on your right is Rue Bernatchez.
