Papago Army Heliport is a United States Army heliport at Papago Park Military Reservation. It is home to the 2nd Battalion, 285th Aviation Regiment. Papago Park Military Reservation (PPMR) was originally established as Camp Papago on April 21, 1930 by Public Law 92 of the 71st Congress. The act served to abolish the Papago-Saguaro National Monument and reserve public lands for military purposes. Since congressional designation in 1930, PPMR has been an active military facility supporting the Arizona National Guard. The airport is 9.7 km east of the central business district of Phoenix, a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. It is 5.6 km northeast of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. On base, the Arizona Military Museum is located in the southwest corner and is open on weekend afternoons.
Although there are some remains of a previous runway, there is now only a large apron with two helipads on the southwest side of the base.
Papago AHP lies in between Phoenix and Scottsdale and it is a 15 minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor IAP. From the airport, follow the Freeway 202 and the 143 towards the northeast, towards Scottsdale. At the T crossing, take a right onto McDowell Road.
