Oscar Machado Zuloaga airport, also referred to as Aeropuerto Caracas, is a general aviation airfield north east of Charallave, about 25 km south east of Caracas in Miranda state. It also holds an army maintenance unit.
The airfield is perched on a hillside and private property. So to get anywhere near the action, you will have to pass the first gate or else no viewing! The east-west runway is bordered on the north side by large ramps filled with rows of hangar-sheds. The military are located in the north east part of the main ramp where it bends north. The south side holds a small ramp and the tower, but that side is not visible from the north.
Take highway 1, known as 'Troncal 1' or 'Autopista Regional de Centro', south from Caracas. Use the Charallave/Cua/Santa Teresa exit. After 6 km, take the exit signposted as Aeropuerto Caracas.
