The Algerian Air Force received in 2022 the new MiG-29M/M2 to replace and supplement the existing MiG-29S fleet. MiG-29s from the 3rd Air Defence Wing are based at Bou Sfer, Tindouf and Aïn Oussera, but also stationed in pairs at Béchar, Tinfouchy, In Aménas (Zarzaïtine) for local air defence.

The 2e Escadre de Transport Tactique et Logistique at Boufarik has three squadrons which fly the C-130H and C-130H-30. These aircraft can be seen regularly at European airports and even airshows.

The Algerian Air Force operated the L-39ZA in a tiger squadron. All the L-39ZAs from 620 Advanced Training Squadron EEA were painted in this tiger colour scheme. Nowadays the L-39ZA are replaced by the Yak-130.
