Twelve PC-21s were ordered by the RJAF and they replaced the CASA C101CC and the Hawk Mk63 in the advanced training role. The hyper modern asset promises to serve the RJAF cadets and instructors for many years to come.

The RJAF F-16AM/BM fleet started sporting a new and very attractive, dark grey (often mistaken for Have Glass V) color scheme with a new serial presentation. We love it!

The M28 Skytrucks have 3sq registrations but it is to be expected due to the characteristics of this aircraft type that they are operated in the Special Forces/SOCOM roles and responsibilities.
The 3sq-operated Il-76MF (JIAC operated) were sold to Egypt in August 2019. The sole Il-76TD (RJAF-360) returned to the leasing company in July 2024. The Casa 295s of 3sq were sold to a third party via the UAE in early 2024 after the sale to Myanmar was embargoed. 7sq received two ex-8sq UH-60A during 2018 for MedEvac, augmenting the two Super Puma helicopters that are MedEvac-equipped. Some of the EC635T1 were transferred to 7sq around 2018 and a number are upgraded by Paramount Group with the FLASH upgrade. The EC635T1s were augmented by former 8sq UH-60A Black Hawk helicopters in 2018. 14sq took over the EC635T2i of the Public Security Air Wing (Police). They still sport the same livery but gained large RJAF titles under the cockpit in the process. |
The United Arab Emirates are supporting Jordan in the fight against ISIS/Daesh. In 2015, the RJAF received a number of former UAE Air Force Air Tractors that are used in the Counter-Insurgency (COIN) role.

The U.S. are supplied Jordan with surplus UH-60A Black Hawk helicopters to replace the under-performing EC635 helicopters. Initially they were operated by 8sq, which formed a Quick Reaction Force. During 2018, the 8sq UH-60As transferred to 14sq and 8sq received brand new UH-60M and moved to the PHRB at KA2.

The Tactical Flying School was founded at KA2 in 2021. It trains helicopter pilots in tactical flying maneuvers.
9sq is the primary UAV squadron and part of the Prince Hussein II ISR Wing. It used to operate the F-5E and F-5 F from King Feisal bin Abdul Aziz AB (al-Jafr). The Falco UAV operated by 9sq was withdrawn during 2017. The UH-1H and UH-1N of 8sq have been withdrawn from service in favor of Black Hawks. The UH-60A of 8sq transferred to 14sq in 2018 and 8sq received new UH-60M "Mike" models in the process. |
10sq and 12sq are operating the AH-1F Cobra helicopters from KA2. An avionics upgrade program started in 2015 so they are expected to be in service with 10sq for the foreseeable future. Eventually 12sq will transfer to a different type but will soldier on with the non-updated version.

A brand new UH-60M of 8sq after its induction into the PHRB. During 2018, the SOCOM assets were inducted into the Air Force, where previously they were considered as Army assets. In the process, RJAF 8sq formed a Quick Reaction Force and was merged with the Prince Hashim Bin Abdullah II Royal Aviation Brigade at KA2.

The RJAF ordered four heavy-lift Mil Mi-26T2 helicopters. initially assigned to 7sq (because of the requirement that Mi-26T2 pilots should have Medium Lift experience, 7sq operates the AS332M1 Super Puma), they were assigned a totally new squadron in 2018, aptly named 26sq.
