The primary task of the eight NH90TTH helicopters in service with 3sq is to provide tactical air mobility.

The A109 Light Utility Helicopter is in use with 3sq for a variety of tasks. One of these is the training role, before pilots move on to the SH-2G(I) Seasprite or NH90TTH. Five are operational, with a sixth airframe as attrition reserve.

42sq at Ohakea operates four Beech 350i King Airs for transport duty, Air Warfare training and sensor suite training.

NZ1401 is one of eleven T-6C Texan II aircraft in service with 14sq at Ohakea since 2014 in the pilot training role.
