The Saudi National Guard (SANG) is being formed along US Army lines. Four SANG Aviation Brigades has been formed, each consisting of a UH-60M battalion and a AH-64E/AH-6i battalion

Spearhead of the SANG Aviation Brigades are the AH-64E Apaches, of which 36 were ordered.

Saudi Ministry of Natioanal Guard

Dirab National Guard Base south west from Riyadh was opened in 2023. This aviation base is a training base with simulator facilities.

The composition of each Aviation Brigade is as follows: 24 UH-60M, 12 AH-64E, 12 AH-6i. Seen here is the 1st SANG Aviation Brigade at Khasm al Aan.

For observation the SANG acquired 24 AH-6i Little Birds. These helicopters join the AH-64E Apaches in every 2nd Aviation Battalion.

Twelve trainers have been in use to train the initial cadre since 2013. Most likely a temporary setup while OEKA was under construction.
