Royal Jordanian increases B787-orders
Royal Jordanian has decided to order four additional B787-9s with Boeing. The news was announced during the first day of the Dubai Air Show 2023. The airline also said it was committed to its previous announced order for two B787-9s, taking its total backlog for new Dreamliners with Boeing to six.
Previously, the airline was in talks with AerCap about the lease for three B787-9s but that deal now seems dead in the water.
Royal Jordanian already operates a fleet of seven B787-8s, as well as one Airbus A310-300F, five A319s, nine A320s, two A321s, two Embraer ERJ175s, and two ERJ195s.
For its narrowbody-fleet renewal, the airline has opted for the Airbus A320neo-family and Embraer E2-family.
