Surinam Airways' new A340 almost ready
A photo of Surinam Airways' new Airbus A340-300 has surfaced on Slovenian aviation website Sierra5.net. The aircraft in question is currently registered F-WTAJ (921) and is planned to be registered as PZ-TCW. That's a different aircraft we thought it could be in our article of February 2023.
Although the livery has been amended for Surinam Airways, you can still clearly spot the livery of its previous user, Air Belgium, where it flew as OO-ABD between August 2018 and October 2020. After a period of storage at Tarbes-Lourdes, it moved to Amman where it has been stored since January 2022 and now being prepared for its new user. The adaption of the design was made by Skubin Design.
In December 2022, Surinam Airways took delivery of its first own aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, since June 2021. This Airbus will be its second, while the airline has also issued a Request for Proposals (RfP) to aircraft leasing companies for a second B737-800.
