The pictures from the static during Beauvechain last show are unlikely to be representative for this one because then the public could go on either side, now only on one side according to their map, which is also logical because there will be taxiing display aircraft there apparently.
By the looks of the map, the runway will be behind the static, which will be partially 'active' static as some display aircraft will also be parked there.
Worth pointing out that Duxford started a no stepladder policy last year, saw quite a few people being told to get off their ladder and not use it anymore by the stewards.
The French part of the website now specifically states that there will be shuttle busses running from Ottignies trainstation. Do try to get to Ottignies by train, not with the very obscure bus instructions via Wavre of something as they list as options, unless you fancy being en route for the better...
That is correct. If you park further away (eg Tienen or Heverlee) and take the free shuttle bus service, parking is only 5 Euro per car. They are trying to discourage people from parking close the the base which has only limited access roads, instead opting for parkings near major traffic axes.
New in the static: French army EC120 Colibri, one of the civilian registered aircraft which is replacing the Gazelles. As for public transport, there is an additional parking near Ottignies trainstation, which now looks like the best option by public trainsport. Ottignies can be reached from both Br...
I must admit being very surprised to see the Greeks confirm participation with the financial challenges they're having, but let's not forget they already sent a T-6 to Belgium in 2007 (Coxyde).
In the past, they ran a bus service from Leuven for shows at Beauvechain. I don't know whether they'll do that again this year though, but given that in recent years, they made an effort to make the base accessible (even for Florennes in 2008!), I think the odds are fairly favourable. Worst case sce...
There is no strict limit to the total number of visitors, however, there is a limit to the number of cars that allowed to enter during a specific time slot. I believe the first 13:00 slot is already fully booked, so earliest entry by car is 13:30.
