Bad news Joris! I hadn't heard it yet. Thanks for pointing out.

lens-testing

Hi Iwan,

I would very much like to come. When I get the date I'll see if I'm able to.
I would like to take a few shots with the Canon 500 4.0 so I just hope there will be someone who was actually visited by Santa Claus!

greetings,
Kees

lenstest

*Iwan you're a great teacher. That's why I forgive you just this once for saying nasty things about my lovely lens. Seriously, I followed your instructions to the letter and it worked! The only thing I changed was that I didn't make the file 900X600 but 800X550. I did this because Photobucket, the t...

lens test

Hi guys, I was a little bored this afternoon and so I decided to do an amateur test on the 100-400 mm. It might make this discussion a bit more concrete. There are no aircraft I'm afraid but it may give you a fair idea nevertheless. I attached the 1.4 converter to the lens and took the following pic...

settings

I used to do everything manually (old habits die hard) but lately, if conditions are optimum (sun and blue skies) I simply turn the dial to P and let the camera/lens do all the work for me. If conditions are not that good I always use shutterspeed priority because there is no point in shooting at 40...

CD's als back-up

*Crizz: De motivatie om CD's niet als back-up medium te gebruiken was volgens de professionals de onbetrouwbaarheid. Ik citeer even uit de bewuste bijlage van overigens oktober 2005 i.p.v. oktober 2006. Excuses daarvoor: Tyson Rininger (top US aviation photographer): "For archiving, use externa...

Canon EF 100-400 mm L IS SM

I'm a 100-400 user and I stated my opinion on this lens recently in the topic "Cool photos - Canon or Nikon?" so I don't think it's necessary to repeat that here. Just some of my pictures taken with the long end of this lens: http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r96/keesvandervelden/IMG_0243...

CF kaarten

Dakota's

I've found some more recent Dakota's, although I'm not sure they fit in this topic. They are flying and operational but not with (with the exception of the BBMF example) an air arm. Just delete this reply if it's not what you mean! http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r96/keesvandervelden/IMG_1662.jpg...

Dakota pictures

A very doubtful contribution on my part, I know! It cannot be compared with modern digital imagery but it's operational! A Danish Dakota landing at Ramstein in early April 1982. Captured on dubious colorfilm (probably Photoquelle or something) But anyway, for what it's worth: http://i142.photobucket...

Dakota pictures

Great pictures of a superb aircraft. My only objection is to the very heavy black cadres you used, they do your otherwise excellent shots no credit. But that's a personel opinion ofcourse.
I'm curious to the results of this topic!

Kees
