Last UTair Tu-154 flight ever ?

Post by Caravelle »

According to the UTair website the Tu-154 will be out of service before the end of this year.
When you have nothing to do you can celebrate your new years eve party in Makhachkala by Tu-154.
According to the schedule a Boeing will bring you back to Moscow in 2014.
Will this be the last UTair Tu-154 flight ever or not ?
A couple of farewell flights would be nice ?

28NOV2013: Russia's UTair withdraws last remaining Yak42Ds, Tu-154M
UTair (UT, Khanty-Mansiysk) has withdrawn its last remaining Yak-42Ds and Tu-154M, RA-85018 (cn 90A-852), from revenue service. According to airline spokeswoman, Elena Galanova, the Yak 42s have now been returned to their owner, Tulpar Airlines (TUL, Kazan Int'l). "Let me reiterate that it was not due to age; it was because of their economic inefficiency - high consumption of aviation fuel, as well as high maintenance costs," she said. The regional carrier is expecting to take delivery of its first of six next generation Russian aircraft, SSJ 100-95s, in the second quarter of 2014.

Another victim for 2014 will be the retirement of the last 5 UTair Express Tu-134's.
Another farewell flight ? It would be nice if UTair/UTair Express organise a package deal for both types.
