The 737 fleet at Air New Zealand is rapidly shrinking, with several aircraft being retired throughout 2013.
At least two former Air New Zealand 737s (including a former Transavia example) have made their way to new owners, having been sighting in the United States before heading off to South America.
ZK-NGK was retired from Air New Zealand service on 20 March 2013 after 13 years of service in New Zealand.
Originating from Transavia in the Netherlands, it first arrived in New Zealand in 1999, still wearing its Dutch registration PH-TSX.

An electrical fire in the cockpit forced this 737 to make an emergency landing at RNZAF Ohakea on 3 May 2007.
On board the aircraft were 121 passengers, 3 cabin crew and 2 pilots. Nobody was injured in the incident.
The electrical burning resulted from a coffee spill in thecockpit by a different crew about 4 hours earlier.

However, ZK-NGK seems to have reached the end of its life as an airliner according to the blog entry below (including photo).
The location, date and circumstances of the photo are unknown but it doesn't look like its getting an overhaul!

My last notes have this aircraft stored at Christchurch airport (CHC), I am assuming that this is where the aircraft is now being dismantled for parts.
