A brief stop during our summer holiday was made on the day before the Tour de France started here (well, Gap town that is).

19-07-2014 (15:00-16:00lt)
730/CA DHC6-300 1ETA
(300)/F-RACE DHC6-300 1ETA (inside hangar)
891/MCE PC-6B2/H4 ETCM (inside hangar)

It seems that Gap is often used, maybe even a deployment base, for these fine and rare planes! None where in use today, but seem often to be used for (military) parajumpers.

Cheers,

Thanks Sjoerd.

Which hangar or which part if the airfield is used for these mil birds?

The DHC6 was parked inside a hangar at the former ALAT-area (East side) and I think this is out of bounds. Luckily the door was open. The Turbo Porter was in a closed hangar just North of the through road passing the Northern approach. The hangar had a logo of Pilatus on it which caught my attention luckily, otherwise I would have driven on. The verry friendly technicians here had no problem me taking pictures of it inside. :D
