Russian submarine in swedish waters

Post by hammarö »

Since yesterday is the Swedish defence hunting an Russian submarine in swedish waters. It is a very aggresive deep in the Stockholm arpilega. Not only a near border case.

Much of the Swedish military forces search the Russiam submarine. Naval ships, submarines, coast artillery, helicopters, fighters, all. Allthough have Sweden just now have no ASW helicopters operative. They are waiting of the delayed NH 90, just for 4 more years. May be it is time to get the US MH-60.

It is a situation of war, at least a cold war. It is time to sharpen the knifes.

Reminds me of the good old days back in the 90s, when we were on a road trip through Scandinavia and arrived at Berga for a look across the fence. The airfield was crowded with soldiers and we were sent away instantly! We thought a look a bit further away out of view was a good idea. Unfortunately the same guy (who was huge! and sent us away earlier), wasn't very amused when he discovered us once more. Lock and load was the first action from his side so the (very reluctant) police was ordered to arrest us and take us to the police station.

Later that week we found out during a tour at another Marinen facility, we ended up in a excercise initiated instantly. This as a reaction to a Soviet submarine invasion. So old times are reviving!

I spend my first and only week in tent in military service at Berga. As a recce soldier we have not to use tent.

Russia are now forming their hybrid war. We are just now in a hybrid war period forming by FSB.

Netherlands sold their P-3C to Germany.

I am sure that NATO have controll of the submarines in the Baltic.

Russia also now build up the naval spetsnaz and the PDSS soldiers.

Maybe we also now can see the first exercises with midget submarines. Used by spetsnaz and PDSS.

The new frigates in Baltic use Ka-27 Helix, also used by PDSS.

Based Ka-27 in area? Not many?

Known bases Pribylovo, St Peterburgs area and Kaliningrad Danskoye.

16 of the naval Ka-29 were transferred to FSB during the 2000s.

Dutch submarine and other dutch navals participated in naval exercise. Swedish have a theory that the searched submarine tryed to perform sigint, and listen to sound from the dutch sub.

What strange remarks.... Scramble is a aviation site, mostly by and for aircraft spotters. Most of the people are less interested in submarines. Maybe if lists (or pictures) of aicraft involved in the search could be added more people would be interested.

Anyway, I do find your contributions of interest, but have nothing to share on the subjects. Hence, not many replies. Sorry, but that's just a reality in many cases.

If pictures of planes are published, you can count me in.
But we are neither military, nor navy interested.
So please no mistakes about that!
Otherwise goodnight indeed!

I tend to disagree. Hammaro's posts sometimes provide useful backgrounds to movements.

I am really sorry if someone misunderstood me.
What struck me most, is the angry tone in the text. Sweden is no Syria, is no Ukraine.
So don,t overestimate what happens.

Ubåten kom från Holland
Apperantly the submarine is Dutch. He was doing exercises with the Swedish navy, but seems to be very well at hiding.
This all according to swedish newspapers.

Guys, i don't see the problem of this post.
Hammaro posted it in the tattle lounge, if you don't want to look at it and get irritated just don't open the post and scroll on...
I personally like the posts from Hammaro even if not aviaton related.
