This is too funny.
A juvenile swan decides to take a nap on Runway 27L at London Heathrow Airport, delaying 20+ aircraft from A320s to several wide-bodies such as the worlds largest commercial airliner, the Airbus A380.
Thousands of passengers sit still on the tarmac whilst our feathered friend makes himself at home.
Our impeccably polite British hosts seek to dislodge their imperturbable guest from her comfortable perch at Runway 27L which sees over almost minutely departures during a typical rush hour.
In other words that's approximately 30-45 departures per hour.
They chase it, almost hit it with the car and try everything else in their power to make the goose move, but he's going nowhere.
London Heathrow, Europe's busiest airport (operating at a staggering 99,8% capacity and ~ 1300 movements per day), cannot afford even the slightest delay or malfunction in its hectic, heavily trafficked schedule.
I must say that it was handled well and I greatly respect Heathrow's respect to their passengers' absolute safety and well-being.
Situations like these cannot be prevented,
but it is pretty funny witnessing a couple airport workers trying to chase a little duck off one of the world's busiest, most pressured runways.
