Flight Radar 24 changes

Post by Key »

Am I missing something or did FR24 add advertising AND remove playback for those without a premium account?
That's too bad...

Playback is still there. It's the little clock next to bookmarks and under UTC time.

Ah, now I see it. Thanks Michel!

As for the rest, it was to be expected they would either put features behind a paywall or add advertisements. I am just glad they did not do both, and not having to pay for a useful (desktop) function I use just now and then is the best option of the two for me.

All the changes are income-based. Most functionality is still there but hard to find and not user friendly. I noticed I am using other programs now more often (e.g. planefinder.net) as well as my SBS  I guess the changes are just the beginning :(
And 24 USD a year is a bit too much for the total amount of time I use the program. But others might be staring at the FR24 screen for hours...

Also flight history missing for non-airline ADS-B airplanes.

No doubt complaints from the operators of these.

It was useful for tracking movements for reports, but without knowing what it's like if you pay, I'm not going to bother.

Question, this morning i noticed about 9 USAF RCH flights in the list al T-MLAT, several C17's, KC135s an a C5.
If i click on "go to flight"on the right it shows the flight for about 1 minute, and then it disapears.
I tried this with all flights, and it goes like this all the time.
Does anyone kow if a payed version shows these flight continously, or doesn't that solve my problem.
Regards Pieter

Dunno Pieter. But I tried this with a random MLAT2 flight just now, and the screen (desktop) keeps following it.

Probably it is because those military planes are blocked. They don't show on the map normally, but are only visible in the list, because FR still logs their positions. So if you click those planes in the list, FR will display it, but only for a short time, until the web page notices it is showing a plane that should be blocked.

Tried it again, now they remain on the map, but as soon as you click on another aircraft it's gone.
Is there anyone who has a payed version, and can check if that problem is solved with a payed version.
This morning there where about 30 to 40 military aircraft in the list, would be great if they show permanently on the map.

Pieter,
I have the payed version, and I have the same 'problem'.
But FR tries to block a lot of military aircraft, and a few other aircraft as well, coming from the FAA block list, as they want "not try to create any conflicts with the FAA or any other national aircraft authority" ( http://forum.flightradar24.com/threads/ ... #post35927 )

I think the entire point is that the military aircraft shouldn't even appear in the list

Since this week FR24 shows a lot less military aircraft, haven't found a single RCH (reach) so far.
Looks like they enabled this.
