Interesting article introducing the program that should generate the next generation of US military helicopters. One program to develop 4 (or 5 depending on how you read it) types or sizes of helicopters from scout (OH-58 replacement) to a large cargo helicopter with the size and charateristics of a C-130. From the drawings it looks like the next generation of helicopters, or better vertical lift aircraft, will look quite a bit different then current helicopters. First technology demonstrators should be flying in 2 years.
