Well, regarding fleet-commonality: I just understood that the MP MD-11s will not go to the scrapper. One will be re-configured into a VIP version for use by the royal family and government and two other MD-11s will become air-tankers to replace the current KDC-10s!ehusmann wrote:And also with a Triple Seven.... yet not really an option. My guess is that anything significantly larger than a Lineage is just too much plane, too much cost and too much political problems. Smaller might be better, but then it is no longer an option to integrate operations with KLM. Hence: my money is on the Lineage.

The first one mentioned (PH-MCS) is to be painted bright orange and should be painted ahead of the re-configuration asap and do a fly-by over Dordrecht, when the royal family will visit that city on this year's Kingsday, on 27 April! The painting will be done by KLM in hangar 14. The aircraft is currently parked in MP colours on the platform where hangar 9 used to be.
Great news!
